Best Paper Awards

Thanks to two of our sponsors, we are proud to announce the following two Best Paper Awards:

  • The NICTA Best Paper Award for the best paper submitted to VisHCI 2006. The award went to
    • Image-Based Multi-view Scene Analysis using 'Conexels'
      Josep R. Casas, Jordi Salvador

  • The ANU RSISE Best Student Paper Award for the best paper submitted by a student to VisHCI 2006. This award was shared by two student papers. The co-winners were
    • Observer Annotation of Affective Display and Evaluation of Expressivity: Face vs. Face-and-Body
      Hatice Gunes, Massimo Piccardi
    • Learning Active Appearance Models from Image Sequences
      Jason Saragih, Roland Goecke
Only full papers were considered for the best paper awards. The decision were based on the paper reviews by the program committee. The final decision was made by the organisers.
