Starting Xilinx Foundation

To start XILINX FOUNDATION, (double) click on the Project Manager icon, Figure 3

Alternatively:

Start $\to$ Programs $\to$ Xilinx Foundation Series 3.1i $\to$ Project Manager.

You will be asked to either open an existing project, or create a new one. In this first instance, click cancel in the getting started dialog box.

The PROJECT MANAGER window will appear, Figure 4.

Now that XILINX FOUNDATION is running, you can enter digital circuits using via a schematic editor or a VHDL editor, run a simulation and view results, and compile your circuit for an FPGA programmable device. Take a look at the window, sub-windows, menus, etc. You will use a number of its features in this course.
