Diode Circuits

Now we can analyze circuits containing diodes. We begin with the simple diode biasing circuit of Figure 77, and in §7.4 we look at rectifiers.

We take VS=5 V, and R=1 k$\Omega$.

The ideal model Figure 73 would say that the diode voltage is v=0 with current

\begin{displaymath}i = \frac{V_S}{R} = 5 \ {\rm mA}
\end{displaymath}

However, this calculation is not accurate (but gives the rough values).
