Resonance in RLC Circuits

Load the PSPICE file rlc-tac.sch, Figure 26.

Exercise:

1.
First, simulate the circuit and obtain the transient response. How long does it take to reach AC steady state?

2.
Now enable AC sweep, disable transient, and simulate again. Note the AC response, i.e. the magnitude and phase Bode diagrams.

3.
Determine the resonant frequency, the 3 dB points, the bandwidth B, and the quality factor Q. Compare with theory.

4.
Experiment with larger and smaller values of R and determine the effects on B and Q. Tabulate your measurements.
