Travel

For International Participants
Canberra is the capital of Australia and can be best reached by air via one of the major international airports in Australia, such as Sydney or Melbourne. Qantas offers many connecting flights from these airports every day. Check with your travel agent as they can usually book the connecting flights as a package with your international airfare.

Please note, to protect Australia from pests and diseases, Australia has very tough quarantine inspections for anyone arriving in Australia. It is strongly recommended not to bring any food with you or, if you really feel the need to do so, please declare it when arriving in Australia! For more information, please visit the website of the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service.

For Participants from Australia
Canberra is well connected to all major cities in Australia. There are direct flights to Canberra from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne Perth, and Sydney as well as direct long-distance coach connections from Melbourne and Sydney. From the airport, take a taxi or the Airliner bus to the city centre (10-15min).

Once in Canberra, the ANU is located to the west of the city centre in an area known as Acton. It is about a 10min walk from the city centre to reach the ANU campus and about another 10min to walk to the workshop venue, the Innovations Building.
