Ultrasound imaging and adaptive beamforming
- The reduction in effective aperture size in the spatial smoothing method

Image quality is the most important factor in ultrasound imaging. To improve the image quality, robust Capon beamformer is applied to ultrasound imaging recently. However, there are difficult problems in the existing methods due to two aspects:
- Implement the method onto medical ultrasound imaging
- Achieve a higher resolution
- Achieve a better speckle suppression
- Achieve a better higher depths reconstruction
- Allow a reduction in aperture size
We proposed a robust Capon beamformer with frequency smoothing (RCB-FS) applied ultrasound imaging and our main contributions are:
