My research focuses on a broad range of topics under the umbrella of intelligent decision-making in AI spanning sequential decision theory, machine learning, symbolic representations and reasoning, and information retrieval. I've applied these analytic and algorithmic tools to diverse application areas including social media recommendation, hybrid stochastic control, operations research, and interactive visual search.
What's new?
- A Dagstuhl Preference Learning Workshop I'm helping coordinate has been accepted!
- I gave an invited talk at BRACIS on Data Structures for Efficient Inference and Optimization in Expressive Continuous Domains outlining some of my recent research advances. I'll give a comprehensive tutorial on this work at AAAI 2013.
- I received a Google Grant on Social Media Recommendation with the resulting research on data from over 37,000 Facebook users leading to a paper at WWW 2012!
- I received one of two ANU Engineering and Computer Science awards for Excellence in Supervision for 2010 and another ANU Supervision Award in 2012... thanks students!
- The Relational Dynamic Influence Diagram Language (RDDL) is the new IPPC language.
- Need code? I've open-sourced my most requested research software on Google Code.
