Short biography

Chunhua Shen is a senior researcher at NICTA (formerly National ICT Australia) Canberra Research Laboratory, A.C.T. Australia. His research interests are in computer vision and statistical machine learning. Recent papers have been on boosting algorithms and their application in real-time object detection, scalable semidefinite programming and application to learning metric matrices.
From 1995 to 2002, he studied mathematics and physics (BSc), speech signal processing (MSc) at Nanjing University, China; and received his PhD of computer vision from University of Adelaide in 2006; MPhil of applied statistics from Australian National University in 2009.
