Information for Prospective Students

NICTA has PhD scholarships available on a competitive basis (visit the education site for details
At present, I am working on computer vision and pattern recognition techniques mainly applied to imaging spectroscopy. A list of prospective PhD research opportunities can be found on the ANU site. These are:

Smart Spectral Tagging, Tracking and Locating (Smart TTL)
Consumer Applications of Multispectral Imaging

Note that the above topics are not exclusive. I am also interested in the following areas:

Structural and statistical pattern recognition techniques for graphical models, specially for the analysis and understanding of high-dimensional data
The use of shape analysis methods and matching techniques to recover 3D models.
The use of energy minimisation techniques and differential geometry for visualisation and cross validation of data abstracted as a relational structure.
