Research Interests

  • Developing advanced, fast and robust signal processing methods for data collected with spherical geometry (spherical signals)

  • Representations, concentration, dimensionality and sampling of spherical signals.

  • Application driven development of signal processing techniques. Some applications I have worked on are:
    • Localised reconstruction of geological signals on the Earth's surface
    • Sampling and reconstruction of the head-related transfer function in acoustics
  • Main application of interest is estimating the fibre structure of white matter in the brain using diffusion magnetic resonance imaging:
    • Developing optimal sampling schemes in terms of the number of samples
    • Accurate and fast reconstruction algorithms
    • Denoising methods
    • Sparse representations
    • Higher dimensionality sampling and reconstruction
