Uses a database (PostgreSQL) to store persistent data - that's what databases do well
AES 128-bit secret keys are further AES 128-bit encrypted in the database
allows database to be backed-up etc. without too much fear of keys being compromised
Only YKAS knows the AES 128-bit database decryption key (and so does the file-system...)
